310 Stainless steel block, 2 inches thick, 26 lbs. Stamped 385.90 T OZ.

Description

Large block of stainless steel plate, 2 inch thick.
9.25 inch x 4.5 inch x 2 inch thick; weighs 26 lbs. Mill finish.
An approximate XRF analysis is attached…23% Cr 21% Ni 53 %Fe with some Mn corresponds to 310 stainless.
So I think this is probably 310 or maybe 314 stainless steel, with higher chrome and nickel than 316 or 304. (316 stainless contains lower Cr and much lower Ni.) I cannot guarantee the analysis or the alloy type but directionally it’s a “better” alloy than 316.
This was used by MetalRex as a test or check weight for a precious metals balance.
Stamped weight is 385.90 T OZ.
