    Description

    National Flags & Major Cities. Inserted in tobacco/cigarette packs from 1911 to 1913. Three-inch ruler added to scans to show size/scale. Most measure about 3.25 inches by about 2.0 inches -- cutting procedures weren't precise back then. Great colors of silk fabric.
    Shows some typical wear, some corner curls, fraying & discoloration due to age.

    Some creases. Overall a very nice lot, some are lower grade.
    Designated as S33 Flag Silks in the collectible guides. Most are Egyptienne & Sovereign (USA) cigarettes, a few are BVD issues (UK). Sovereigns are rarer than the Egyptiennes.
    Tobacco companies inserted items such as these to entice women to start smoking. These items were sewn into quilts, pillow cases, etc.
